This policy explains what information IPO Scouter collects when you visit our website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

In short: You can read IPO Scouter without creating an account or sharing personal details. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, we never ask for your PAN, bank or demat details, and we do not sell your information.

IPO Scouter (iposcouter.com) is an independent website that publishes information, analysis and reviews about initial public offerings (IPOs) in India. In this policy, “IPO Scouter”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the website and the people who run it. “You” refers to anyone who visits or uses the website.

2. Information we collect

Information you choose to share

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and anything you write in your message. We only use this to read and reply to you.

Information collected automatically

When you browse the site, some technical information is collected automatically:

  • Usage and device data through Google Analytics, such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the website that referred you, your browser and device type, screen size and approximate location (city or region level).
  • Server and security logs kept by our hosting provider and our website firewall, such as your IP address, browser details and the time of each request. These help us keep the site stable and protect it from spam, bots and attacks.

3. Information we do not collect

IPO Scouter does not offer user accounts, take payments or process IPO applications. We never ask for, and you should never send us:

  • Your PAN, Aadhaar or other government ID numbers
  • Bank account, UPI or card details
  • Demat account, DP ID or IPO application numbers
  • Passwords or one-time passwords (OTPs)

When we explain how to check IPO allotment status, we link to the official registrar and stock exchange websites. Any details you enter there are handled by those websites under their own privacy policies, not by IPO Scouter.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Run, maintain and improve the website and its content
  • Understand which pages and topics are most useful to readers
  • Reply to messages, correction requests and feedback
  • Detect and prevent spam, abuse, fraud and security threats
  • Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

5. Cookies and analytics

  • Legal reasons, if we are required to do so by law, court order or a valid request from a government authority, or where needed to protect our rights, our readers or the public.
  • Change of ownership, if the website is transferred to a new owner, in which case this policy will continue to apply to information collected before the change.

Some of these providers may store or process data on servers located outside India.

9. How long we keep information

  • Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your message and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records.
  • Analytics data is kept by Google Analytics for the retention period set in our account, after which it is deleted automatically.
  • Server and security logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or overwritten as part of routine maintenance.

10. How we protect information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including an encrypted HTTPS connection, a website firewall, regular software updates and backups. No website or internet transmission is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal data we hold about you
  • Correct or update inaccurate information
  • Delete your personal data where we no longer need it
  • Withdraw any consent you have given

12. Children’s privacy
