Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages IPO: size and timing, food and FMCG sector card

Coca-Cola is preparing to list its Indian bottling business, one of the largest beverage operations in the country. On 1 June 2026 the company said it was eyeing a listing of Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings, the parent of bottler Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), on BSE and NSE in 2027, subject to market conditions and approvals.

More details have since come from media reports. In late September 2026, NDTV Profit reported, citing sources, that Coca-Cola plans to file the draft prospectus in December, with an issue of about $1 billion, or more than ₹9,500 crore, at a valuation of around $10 billion. Those numbers have not been confirmed by the company.

About Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages and its parent company

HCCB bottles and distributes Coca-Cola’s drinks in India, including Coca-Cola, Thums Up, Sprite, Limca, Maaza and Kinley water. It has about 5,000 employees across roughly 15 plants. Since 2024 it has been handing some regional operations to franchise bottlers so that it can focus on its core territories, which has reduced its revenue but is meant to improve returns.

The numbers investors will look at

HCCB’s revenue from operations fell 9% to about ₹12,751 crore in FY25 from about ₹14,022 crore in FY24, as it sold regional businesses. Net profit dropped 73% to about ₹757 crore from about ₹2,808 crore, mainly because FY24 included large one off gains from those sales. In December 2025 the company was reported to be cutting about 300 jobs as part of a profitability push.

A $10 billion valuation, roughly ₹85,000 crore, would be more than 100 times FY25 reported profit and about 6.7 times FY25 revenue on a simple calculation. That gap is why investors will focus on underlying earnings after the asset sales, which the DRHP should make clearer. Listed comparisons will include Varun Beverages, PepsiCo’s largest bottler.

What could change the plan

Beverage demand is seasonal and weather dependent; a weak summer hurt results in FY25. The ongoing restructuring makes past numbers hard to compare. Coca-Cola could change the size, structure or timing, and the 2027 target depends on market conditions.

HCCB IPO review: what it means for investors

There is nothing to apply for yet. When the DRHP is filed, focus on the asset light plan, profit after excluding one off gains, and how much of the issue is an offer for sale by Coca-Cola.

HCCB would give Indian investors a second large listed soft drinks bottler alongside Varun Beverages, which could make for a useful valuation benchmark.

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages IPO: frequently asked questions

What is the Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages IPO date?

No IPO date has been announced as of 18 October 2026. Coca-Cola has said it is eyeing a listing in 2027, and media reports say the draft prospectus could be filed in December 2026.

Has HCCB filed its DRHP with SEBI?

Not as of 18 October 2026. Media reports say Coca-Cola plans to file the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) in December 2026. The company has not confirmed that date, and no RHP or SEBI approval exists yet.

What is the HCCB IPO size and valuation?

Reports put the issue at about $1 billion, more than ₹9,500 crore, at a valuation of about $10 billion. These figures are not confirmed.

What is the HCCB IPO price band and share price?

The price band has not been announced as of 18 October 2026. HCCB and its parent HCCH are unlisted, so there is no share price yet. A price band usually comes only after SEBI approval, shortly before the issue opens.

What is the HCCB IPO GMP today?

There is no meaningful grey market premium (GMP) before a price band is announced. GMP is an unofficial, unregulated indicator and often differs from the actual listing price.

Which company will list, HCCB or HCCH?

The planned listing is of Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings, the parent of the bottler Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages.

Who is the parent company of HCCB?

HCCB is the bottling company under Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings (HCCH). HCCH is owned by The Coca-Cola Company and the Jubilant Bhartia Group, which bought a 40% stake in July 2025.

Is HCCB profitable?

Yes. It reported net profit of about ₹757 crore on revenue of about ₹12,751 crore in FY25, down from FY24 when profit included one off gains from selling regional businesses.

Is the HCCB IPO good or bad?

It is too early to judge without a DRHP. Strengths: Coca-Cola brands such as Thums Up and Maaza, about 15 plants and FY25 net profit of about ₹757 crore. Risks: FY25 revenue fell 9% as regional businesses were sold, demand depends on the weather, and a reported $10 billion valuation would be more than 100 times FY25 profit. This is not investment advice.
